4th Book

Image
A book about a man in his early 40s who is still grieving after the death of his mother when he was a child.  Nonetheless, it was humorous.  Listened to this one.

ACCESS Testing

Today was day one of Access testing. Lots and lots of walking. Tomorrow will also be a difficult day, but slightly less so as I'll have a little better understanding of the schedule and layout. I did another hot yoga class tonight and then ate 8 ounces (measured raw) of steamed greens.  I hope I don't shit the bed.

Illness

I've had a cough since either late September or early October. I only felt sick enough to not want to get out of bed a few days, but last week at work, I started coughing so hard I lost focus and for a brief moment, the ability to speak. It felt like what dementia might be. Soy took me to her acupuncturist after work on Tuesday.  The needles provided me with temporary relief, and I also received a specially made herbal remedy.  I need to take it for twenty days straight.  After a day and a half, I feel much better.  I hope it helps me get over whatever this is.

3rd Book of the Year

Image
"Butter" by Asako Yuzuki.  It started cool but finished with a thud.   The repetition got old. I purchased this copy with Soy last week at a local bookstore. I started another audiobook last night.

Books this year

So far, I've listened to "Legends of the Fall" by Jim Harrison (all three novellas) and read "The Cowboy and Cossock" by Clair Huffaker.  The former was excellent, the latter was okay.  Currently reading "Butter." I'm hoping to keep track of the books I read and listen to this year.  I guess I've averaged around 35 per year the last five years or so, but there is no record.
